For ‘Women in Construction Week’, the latest in our Alumnae to Student Talk Series celebrated Abbey alumnae who work within the construction industry.

Connie Stevens (2016 leaver) is a graduate project manager at construction consultants, Artelia. She is currently working on the major redevelopment of Epsom Hospital. Connie graduated with a Part 1 BSc (Hons) Architecture, having studied Maths, Computer Science and Art at The Abbey. Her studies took her to work building a children’s nursery in South Africa where she first experienced design into construction. Connie’s advice to students is to study what you are good at and follow your interests. Watch to find our more.

Connie explained to Upper V and Sixth Form students that her job involves working as a team to deliver a construction project on time, on budget and to the right quality. “Construction consultancy is a great way of seeing a project through from design to completion. It is an environment that is good to work in: the work feels valuable and I work with amazing women in all areas of the construction process. For Women in Construction Week, I am keen to strengthen and amplify the work of women in construction”.

The Alumnae to Student Talk Series is a popular forum in which current students benefit from our lifelong alumnae network.
