Spanish Carnivals

on

This week in Spanish we have been learning about many different Spanish carnivals.  Everyone chose to research a different carnival from many Spanish-speaking countries. For instance: Tenerife (Canary Islands), Cádiz (Spain) and Barranquilla (Columbia).

We chose the carnival Veracruz which is celebrated in the city of Heroica Veracruz, Mexico. It was first held in 1866 and has been celebrated every year since. It consists of large parades, dances and parties with colourful costumes, intricate masks and large floats. We then created colourful posters in our groups. All the posters look amazing!
