Music scholars shine in lunchtime recital

on

Wednesday 3 May saw our final scholars’ recital of this academic year at Christ Church. We were once again welcomed by Father Peter at Christ Church and would like to thank him and his team for their continued support of our musicians.

The recital opened with a beautiful performance of the Moderato from the Barber of Seville from Natalie on the flute. This was followed by Shumeng on the piano, giving an impassioned performance of Lyphard Melodie by de Senneville. A piece made famous by Richard Clayderman. Ladies in Lavender, was next; it was played gracefully by Mia on the violin. Emily’s performance of Rutter’s Lament for the Holy City opened with a wonderfully resonant tone in the lower register, setting the mood for this atmospheric piece.  The recital concluded with a stylish and assured rendition of Bach’s complex Sonata in F, expertly performed by Lily on treble recorder.
