Lower VI Art Saatchi Gallery Trip

on

On Wednesday 10 January, Lower VI Art students spent the day at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

We visited the CHRISTO AND JEANNE-CLAUDE: BOUNDLESS & IF NOT NOW, WHEN? Generations of Women in Sculpture in Britain 1960-2023 Exhibitions.

As an IB Visual Artists student the trip was particularly helpful because we got the opportunity to explore how mixed media and 3D sculptures can be combined to create really complex and thought provoking pieces. The wrapped pieces, where the artists shroud everyday objects in sheets and plastics tied together with string, especially inspired me as I have begun to consider how I can elevate my own final pieces.
