At the weekend I performed in the Maidenhead Festival of Music and Dance. I competed in the G1 category (Grades 1-3) in the instrumental section.

I played two of my Grade 3 pieces: Distant Shores by James Rae and He’s a Pirate by Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt and Geoff Zanelli. I achieved a silver medal with an overall mark of 86 which was within the ‘Commended’ category. 

My accompanist was Marisa Thornton-Wood and the adjudicator was Paul Harris. They were both amazing and taught me some valuable lessons. They gave constructive feedback so I can continue to improve. 

It was a fantastic experience and I got to listen to some more advanced musicians which really inspired me.
