Sugarcraft Club

on

In Sugarcraft Club this term we decorated Christmas cakes. We used a variety of skills when designing and creating our cakes. In the first week we boiled jam and used it to stick marzipan on to our cakes.

Then we covered the marzipan with white fondant icing. We designed our cakes and then decorated them using a wide range of mediums and sugars, including our own royal icing, sugar flower paste and pastillage as well as using edible colour to air spray our cakes, leaving a really pretty light effect. This has been really fun and educational and we are looking forward to enjoying them in the holidays.
