Jubilate Choir Tour to Wales

on

On the final Wednesday of term, the Junior School Jubilate Choir headed off on tour to Broadhaven in Pembrokeshire, Wales.  It was an early start but, with matching hoodies on, forty students and five members of staff set off excitedly for our first stop at the Big Pit.  Here, we learnt about the history of coal mining and even travelled deep below ground to see the pit first hand.  We then continued our journey, arriving at the Broadhaven YHA in time for tea and an evening rehearsal.

Over the course of the next few days, the choir delighted members of the public with concerts at the stunning St. David’s Cathedral and St Mary’s Church in Tenby as well as giving impromptu performances of our tour signature song, You Raise Me Up, whilst on our excursions which included a visit and tour of Pembroke Castle, St Fagans National History Museum and of course the beach.

After a successful tour, we headed back to Reading laden with souvenirs and some very happy singing memories.
