Upper III: Make a Meal of It

on

This week in Food and Nutrition, the Upper III groups have been making meals.  While some groups made a delicious pasta bake, others made their pizzas from scratch.

Both recipes are affordable, healthy meals, which can be eaten on their own or enjoyed with accompaniments.  Concerned about food waste and affordability, the students calculated the price of their own pizza and compared the nutrition and cost against commercially made pizzas and were delighted to see the difference.

Our students realise in these lessons the importance of learning how to make their own meals and understand the provenance, purpose and function of ingredients.

The Food and Nutrition Department wish you a Happy Christmas and successful and joyful New Year.
