Upper II Netball

on

Upper II attended a netball tournament at The Manor Preparatory school on Wednesday with five other local schools in attendance.

It was bitterly cold with most games being played outside, but the girls showed resilience and battled through winning four out of the five games. There was some fantastic attacking play on display, taking things they have developed in training and putting them onto the netball court!

Captain Sophie lead by example with some pinpoint shoulder passes and Mayowa won the ball back repeatedly for The Abbey to drive the attack…a Serena Guthrie in the making!

Nona showed dominance in both defence and attacking circles and Kanyin had real control when playing centre which is a new position for her. Arms over defence from Yashavee made life difficult for the opposition whilst Mia brought her basketball skill to the netball court which was great to see!

Lastly Flossie showed real tenacity in defence with tips and interceptions at crucial moments.

Overall, the girls were immensely impressive, and we look forward to our whole squad working towards the upcoming IAPS tournament in February.

Our scores were as follows

Wellesley- 2-3 LOSS

The Manor 5-1 WIN

Elstree 4-1 WIN

St Gabriels 4-1 WIN

St Helens & Katherines 2-1 WIN
