U15 Hockey

The Under 15s were runners-up in the final competition of the season.

After a great start with victories over St Marys and Downe House and a draw against Newlands the team went into their penultimate game knowing that a win would secure them the title. A great performance against Leighton Park meant that the team went into the final stages of the game with a 1-0 lead, but a hotly disputed penalty corner award in the dying seconds gave the opposition the opportunity to score in in overtime, which they did to secure the draw.

With only a draw required against Holyport, the team again created chances and had the opportunity to score and lead the game, but it was not to be. A breakaway goal allowed the opposition to score with the last play of the game.

Downe House Won 2-1 (Ellie, Bela)
Newlands Girls’ School Draw 0-0
St Mary’s School Ascot Won 1-0 (Amelie)
Leighton Park Draw 1-1 (Bela)
Holyport College Lost 0-1

Despite not having had many fixtures this year, the team produced some really good performances, but will need to work hard when we return to hockey in September.
