Celebrating Lunar New Year

on

Little Knellies and Reception had a joyful afternoon celebrating the ‘Lunar New Year’. We were very happy to welcome some parents in who spoke to the children about how they celebrate.

We learnt that there are lots of countries in Asia who celebrate, and each of them do things slightly differently. After this the children were divided into small groups where they had the freedom to move around Knell House.

During the afternoon they had the opportunity to explore each room, take part in craft activities, messy play, visit our very own ‘pop-up’ Chinese restaurant, dress up in some traditional dress and even take part in some dragon dancing.

A great big thank you to Amelia, Lexi and Jamie’s mum for giving up their afternoon, and the generous resources you provided all the children with.

A fabulous and enriching afternoon of learning through play!

‘Let the Dragon guide you,

and keep you safe on your adventures,

as you travel through the Lunar New Year’
