The Knitting and Stitching Show

on

LV and UV Textiles students had a fabulous day at The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace last week where some of the LV’s enjoyed learning a new skill at the crochet workshop. One of this year’s highlights was the exhibition by the 62 Group, an artist-led organisation that aims to incorporate and challenge the boundaries of textile practice. The exhibition “Essence” explored the diversity, skill and creativity of textile art and the work conveyed what it is that motivates and drives their practice from concept, to processes or materials. There was also a wealth of fabrics, sewing machines and craft essentials to enjoy, develop ideas and inspire any of the student’s future work.
