For this year’s Jo Trott lecture, on Tuesday evening The Abbey welcomed Mr Philip Charlesworth BM MRCS(Eng) DM FRCS(Urol) – Consultant Urological Surgeon at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading & Princess Grace Hospital, London, to talk about why he chose a career in medicine, and the journey that took him into robotic pelvic cancer surgery.

This fascinating lecture captivated the 300 strong audience, and afterwards Philip kindly answered many questions from intrigued students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
