Ski Trip to the Austrian Alps

on

From the 15th – 22nd December, 37 students from Lower V to Upper VI travelled with five members of staff to the picturesque town of Altenmarkt in the Austrian Alps and enjoyed a fantastic week on the slopes. The conditions were excellent, blessed as we were with blue skies and great snow which provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

The students enjoyed their lessons under the guidance of lovely instructors, who were impressed by the improvements that they saw as the week progressed and even came to the hotel on the final night to present awards and to join us at the disco! In addition to the wonderful skiing experiences, the group visited the charming Christmas market in Altenmarkt where they were able to indulge in all manner of seasonal treats, especially the highly popular chimney cakes! They also went swimming, tobogganing and souvenir shopping, not to mention emergency visits to the local Spar shop for snacks.

Overall, the trip was a perfect blend of outdoor excitement, cultural exploration and memorable moments. Nia, one of the Lower Sixth Form students says: “Hitting the slopes this year was a magical experience, it truly was a white Christmas with all the snow on the mountains. Each day we refined our skills skiing on the slopes whilst making sure we had time for plenty of snowball fights and hot chocolates!”
