Sculpture Exploration

on

Nursery have been investigating the work of Andy Goldsworthy as part of our ‘How We Express Ourselves’ theme. Natural materials feature in this sculptor’s work and so we decided to experiment with wood, pebbles, shells and even ice to make our very own masterpieces.

On a visit to Abbey Gardens the students noticed that there is a colourful sculpture featuring many bottle tops, made by former Lower Prep students. What an exciting discovery! They also spotted other sculptures around the playground.

“I think Andy Goldsworthy has built this and he has made a castle.” Maggie
