Reception Inquiry afternoon

on

The Reception children delighted in welcoming their parents into Abbey Gardens on Tuesday afternoon.

They shared their investigations into their central PYP idea: “We can use our senses to appreciate and care for the natural world.” Starting with a song about a “tiny seed” growing, the girls showcased then ate cress they had cultivated and cared for in a delicious sandwich.

Next Reception demonstrated using their combined senses and freshly acquired gardening skills to plant sunflower seeds with hand-decorated labels. Lastly, their green fingers worked hard to squeeze paint bottles to create a paint drip effect flower pot. What messy fun!
