Maths Week 2023

on

Back in November, we celebrated Maths Week 2023. We ran a competition around the theme of “3 is a Magic Number”. There were two competitions to choose from: create a poster or a short video about the idea of three being a magic number.

Students were encouraged to think outside of the box and make links with other subjects so that they could see that maths is everywhere. They could let their creativity inspire them. We had a huge uptake of entries and the panel had a tough time deciding who the winners were because they were all fantastic and students clearly had a lot of fun with their projects and came away with some fun facts too!

The winners were…

Poster:

Maryam, Lower Prep
Janki, Lower I
Esha, Upper I
Lauren, Upper II
Margaret, Lower III

Video:
Aishani, Upper Prep
Anayra, Lower I
Rosa Carstairs, Upper I
Amy, Upper II

The prizes were Maths art books and a crocheted figure of Tiny the Tortoise from White Rose Maths, kindly made by our talented art specialist Mrs McCafferty!

Well done to everybody who took part, for your interesting and informative projects! Please come and collect your poster from Miss Lisborg to collect your housepoint.
