Lunar New Year – Fai Chun

on

Chinese New Year 2024 falls on Saturday, 10 February, 2024, and ends on 20 February. 2024 is the year of dragon “ 龍年 (Lóng nián) ” and is the 5th animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac signs, coming after the Rabbit. Anyone who is born in the year of the dragon, is said to be wise, powerful, endlessly energetic, and goal-oriented.

To create a lively atmosphere in celebrating the Lunar New Year that is coming, the school campus is decorated with “Fai Chun”, which are traditional strips of red paper with four-character sayings: ‘success in all things’, ‘good health’ or simply ‘happy new year’.

How many “Fai Chun” do you know the meanings of?

1. 龍馬精神 (Lóng mǎ jīng shén)

2. 新年快樂 (Xīn nián kuài lè)

3. 大吉大利 (Dà jí dà lì)

4. 福 (Fú)
