GCSE ART and Textiles

on

On Monday, Art & Textiles were excited to join forces filling up the Hardcastle Hall with wonderful creations from our 2022 GCSE cohort. This exhibition was curated from final pieces of work from over 40 students from both our departments.

There was a wonderful atmosphere at the private view and a great turnout! We were delighted that many of our Abbey Staff community attended along with some of our governors. Those that attended commented on the originality, quality and variety of the work on show. This was a great opportunity to celebrate the success of our art GCSE students and we were gratified to have a number of students and their families join us in the gallery. It was great to see so many of the students enjoying the work and lovely to see their pride in sharing their work with others.

One visitor commented on how they “enjoyed the opportunity to delve into the sketchbooks which provided a window into the unique creative journeys which the students had taken to arrive at their final piece.” Another expressed how it was “joyous when you walked through the Hardcastle Hall‘”

We wish to express thanks to all of our Abbey community as well as the staff and students for their involvement in another wonderful event.
