The year 2022 ended on a high note for me in Badminton and I was very happy and pleased with my performance.

Firstly we won the Best Junior Sports team award at the Reading Awards for winning the Junior County Championship for Berkshire.

The English National Championship, organised by Badminton England, is one of the biggest tournaments for any badminton player. I participated in the U19 Championship in November 2022 and managed to win against higher grade players and reached the quarter final in the Girls’ Singles and lost to the U19 Championship winner.

I also played in the U17 Championship in December 2022 and reached the quarter finals in Girls’ Singles and Girls’ Doubles. In my second round I won against the player who represented Great Britain in the U17 Youth Olympics. In my third round I won against the 5th seed player to reach the quarter finals and eventually lost to the U17 Championship winner. 

It was a great experience to play against talented players at the English National Championship. I am proud to finish the year ranked 9th in England in my age category. 

Badminton is my passion and I will continue to train hard while looking forward to playing two International Tournaments this year (2023).
