Abbey Interludes

on

Wednesday was the last interludes recital for this academic year, and we listened to many lovely pieces played by students.

We started the recital strong with Shumeng playing ‘Cossack Dance’ on the violin.

Then, Grace played two lovely pieces on the piano with contrasting styles of music; the first was ‘La Huerfana’, a calm, gentle piece which was followed by ‘In the Groove’ which was a jazzy piece.

After that, Ruili played a fast and energetic piece called ‘Czardas’ on the violin.

Lastly, we were treated to Haylen on the cello. Haylen also played two pieces; the first was ‘Valse Sentimentale’ by Tchaikovsky which was a moving and compassionate piece. Then, she played ‘Easy Winners’ which is not a style of music usually heard on the cello – it was happy and light hearted.

We were glad to attend this year’s last interludes recital and we hope that next year there will be more opportunities like this.
