Sofia has been selected to be contracted to Reading FC Women’s (RFCW) Professional Game Academy (PGA) for the next two years at U16. RFCW were awarded a category 2 PGA licence by the FA in April 2023 with the PGA replacing the current Academy and forming part of the England Lioness Talent Pathway. 

Sofia has been playing for RFCW’s Regional Talent Club for 6 years after she was selected for their development centre at the age of 8. This year Sofia’s U14 RTC team have won all their games against rival RTC’s, beating Arsenal, Bristol City, Southampton, Oxford United and Forest Green Rovers and competing in the East Berks Football Alliance Coed U14 Div 4.

Sofia will have three training sessions, two strength and conditioning gym sessions, and one game analytics session per week. She will be playing against the U14 boys and other U16 Girls PGA’s in the Junior Premier League for the next two seasons. She is excited to be involved and looking forward to the challenge of continued elite football development, balanced with her education at The Abbey.
