Music scholars shine in lunchtime recital

on

On Wednesday 5 October, a selection of our talented music scholars gave a well-received lunchtime recital in the beautiful surroundings of Christ Church.

The recital opened with Jennifer who gave a dazzling performance of the Sarabande et Allegro by Gabriel Grovlez on the clarinet. This was followed by Tamara on the violin, giving a joyful performance of Hisaishi’s Merry-go-round of Life.

Two movements from Paul Reade’s Victorian Kitchen Garden Suite for clarinet were next on the programme, beautifully played by Amelia. Gianna followed this with an assured rendition of Study no.9 by Jean Baptiste Arban on the euphonium.

Jess chose to play the Intermede pastoral and Final from Gaubert’s Troisieme Sonate on the flute and presented her performance with a real sense of joie de vivre. The recital concluded with the grandeur of the Introduction choral from Boëllmann’s Suite Gothique, expertly performed by Mia.

Many thanks to Father Peter and all at Christ Church for their continued support of our musicians. We look forward to our next recital there on Wednesday 16 November starting at 12:15pm and extend a warm invitation to anyone who would like to attend.
