Queen’s Jubilee: ‘River of Hope’ competition winners

on

We are delighted to share that three of our young artists entered a competition called ‘Rivers of Hope’, organised by the Thames Festival Trust, run in conjunction with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The team were successful in being selected and had their flag designs printed and displayed in the Queen’s Jubilee pageant held on the 5 June.

Our artists Lucy (Lower IV), Sahansa and Isobel (Upper IV) worked during lunchtimes with our Artist in Residence, Emily Kelly, to design the bold, bright abstract artworks digitally. The team will extend their learning and designs into a more resolved project in the coming weeks so watch this space.

The artwork is also available to view online at  www.riverofhope.co.uk (under section T). Following the Pageant, a number of the flags will be displayed as part of a public exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich from 26 September –  30 October 2022.

Congratulations to the team for being involved in such a prestigious and spectacular event….certainly something to remember for years to come. Well done!
