Reading Festival of Sport 2024: Elite Athletes Return

on

The Abbey’s multi-award winning festival is back on Saturday 11 May! The Reading Festival of Sport @ The Abbey offers free sport taster sessions for 3 – 9 year old children and will once again be part of the town-wide Reading Children’s Festival.

The aim is to help young people, and girls in particular, find life-long belonging in sport by discovering an activity they love! This year, students will have the opportunity to meet and train with GB gold medal gymnast Kelly Simm and Fulham FC Women’s player, Ellie Olds.  Both Kelly and Ellie were part of the GSA Girls Go Gold Conference, hosted at The Abbey in September.

The Abbey’s Sport Leaders will also be working alongside our expert PE staff to deliver the fun morning of activities.

The programme of activities for this year is as follows:

  • 3-4 year olds – Gymnastics and Dance – NO MORE SPACES AVAILABLE
  • 5-6 year olds – Gymnastics, Dance, Football and Hockey – NO MORE SPACES AVAILABLE
  • 7-9 year olds – Gymnastics, Netball, Cricket and Football

We look forward to seeing you at the Reading Festival of Sport 2024. Please share the invite with your networks beyond The Abbey community as this activity is open to young people aged 3 – 9 across the local area.

Entry is free but booking is essential as no tickets will be available on the day. Family groups are welcome. Book here
