In the Summer term Sakhi (Upper V) entered the Young Fashion Designer UK 2022 competition; it was a fantastic competition and the standard of entries was extremely high.

YFD UK is supported by a wide range of leading figures in the fashion industry and the work was judged by some amazing judges who have given constructive feedback and useful advice for all entrants.

As a young designer, Sakhi had to produce three pages to express her ideas based on the responsibility/impact that we all have on our environment. Her pages had to include research about her chosen area of sustainability (upcycling), one to portray her intended use of patterns and/or fabrics linked to her chosen area of sustainability, and the last to demonstrate FOUR OUTFIT designs for any occasion.

We would like to congratulate Sakhi’s success in coming 3rd in the Yearr9/10 category for the South region. She will be collecting her prize in October.
