Upper IV Engineering your Future Day

on

At The Abbey we like to extend our students beyond the curriculum and aim to encourage their interests and passions.

The Abbey School in collaboration with Imperial College London, Jacobs Engineering, Women in Nuclear and Woofyt – Music and Science took place on Tuesday 14 June.

The day proved to be challenging, stimulating and fun, whilst giving students the opportunity to use their innovation and problem- solving skills in a range of real life, practical situations.

The students took part in a series of workshops:

Crash – Helmets for eggs

Oil Rigs

Building an Organ

Town Planning Challenge

At this age students should be opening their minds to as many opportunities as possible and we are sure that this day inspired many to consider the variety of possibilities, versatility and creativity that STEM subjects/Engineering offer.
