The Inter-school Poetry Society

on

The inter-school poetry society gathered once again on Wednesday last week, this time looking to discuss poetry surrounding myths and legends.

We began by delving into poetry surrounding ancient Greek mythology, particularly Ulysses and Orpheus, discussing them in
light of the original myths. Then we took another turn exploring mermaids, Irish mythology and even constellations! This led to fascinating discussions exploring so many different viewpoints and readings of the poetry.

Poetry Society is such an amazing opportunity to discuss poetry outside of lessons with people who truly share a love of the subjects being discussed. Our next session will be the exciting Poetry Cafe on Tuesday, 12 March in Harcastle Hall from 18:00-20:00. Tickets can be secured on Eventbrite.
