Last week we launched The Abbey Sewing Bee. Full of excitement, seven teams of students were challenged to create gorgeous garments and embarked on transforming old shirts and denim jeans into something new. There really was a “buzz” in the air throughout each of the three sessions. Using existing elements such as pockets, waistbands etc the students used their imagination and creative flair to create tops, skirts and even an apron on their mannequins. We were thrilled with the sewers enthusiasm and creativity.
