Staff: Taekwondo Expert

Mark Lucas, Head of Estates, took up the martial art of Taekwondo in 1993. Unfortunately due to back problems he was forced to take a break in 1997 and he restarted again nine years later.

Mark worked his way to become a black belt and also an instructor training young people and adults. There are nine black belt levels (called Dan’s) and these take many years to earn. On April 19 April Mark passed his 5th Dan in Taekwondo, the last which requires grading, as from here the remaining belts are honorary.

It will be a number of years however before Mark can be considered for a 6th Dan.This is quite an extraordinary achievement for which we wanted to say congratulations. Mark is now well on his way to becoming a Grandmaster.
