This week in Food and Nutrition we made salad jars.
We learned how to cut and slice carrots into julienne and brunoise cuts before half term. This week we made salad jars using our new safe-cutting skills. We filled our jars with protein – I used chickpeas, a handful of greens with salad leaves, soft vegetables, like tomatoes, hard vegetables, such as carrots and some carbohydrates (I used pasta).
In the end, our final product was a colourful and vibrant jar full of healthy and delicious things! I was very eager to eat my salad jar as it was full of scrumptious veggies and fruits! I can’t wait to cook more, delicious, and nutritious things in Food and Nutrition!
