The competitive rowing season is now in full swing and a number of Abbey students are competing in regional regattas for their various clubs. 

Since winning the J13 British Junior Indoor Rowing championship in December, Ella in Lower IV has been training hard on the water with Reading Rowing Club. She has recently won gold medals for double scull Junior 14 category at Marlow regatta, and last weekend Ella followed it up by winning the Junior 14 category single scull race at Walton and Weybridge Regatta. 

Ella rows up one year because there aren’t many Junior 13 girls racing – you can change that by getting involved in rowing at your local club! Ella is pictured collecting her trophy from Matthew Tarrant, double Word Champion and a member of the 2016 GB Olympic team.
