Reading Corner

on

Hi! My name is Imogen and I am an Upper V Reading Champion. I applied to become a Reading Champion as I am an avid reader and writer, and I’d love to share this enjoyment with others.

As I am in Upper V, I am preparing for GCSEs, and I’ve found that reading has proved an especially useful escape from revision and schoolwork. One of my favourite aspects of reading fiction is how easy it is to get lost in a whole other world, although that often makes going back to revision all the more difficult! As a Reading Champion, my role is to help bring attention to reading for fun more within the school to students of all ages, as well as representing the student voice when it comes to talking about extracurricular reading. On top of this, I’ll also be helping out with reading related competitions and activities, such as World Book Day. There are also more Reading Champions in other years whom you can approach if you have any ideas about the library and reading in the school:

Amelia Lower IV
Anoushka Upper IV

Maria Lower V

Remember, you can also speak to the librarians in the library and email them with your ideas: library@theabbey.co.uk

We look forward to sharing more about reading and the library with you, so keep your eyes open!
