National Poetry Day for Lower I and Upper I

on

Yesterday was National Poetry Day: the annual celebration that encourages everyone to make, experience and share poetry with family and friends.

The children and staff in Upper I and Lower I marked the event during assembly on Tuesday. Each adult took a small group and shared with them some of their favourite poems. It generated much discussion and the children were keen to talk about and even recite some of their favourite poems as well.

It was lovely to start the day by talking about and enjoying a range of poems. We all decided that we wanted to have a sharing session like this much more often than once a year!
