Music Space Odyssey

on

We were delighted to welcome more than 60 prize-winning Year 4 and 5 students from local schools for our Music Space Odyssey event. These students had produced marvellous entries by answering ‘which piece of music would you send into space and why?. Answers ranged from vivid written descriptions of their chosen pieces to live video performances.

Prize winners were invited to The Abbey for a wonderful morning on Saturday 4 November during which they made a music video of Sam Ryder’s song ‘Spaceman’. Having learned the song, they were able to use the recording studio, Mac suite and were filmed using a green screen. The children’s musical, technical and creative talents were very much on display throughout the morning and it was fantastic to see them rising to this challenge and having so much fun.

We look forward to more such meaningful and exciting partnerships events in the future.
