The Abbey Junior School were honoured to welcome the Mayor of Reading, Cllr Rachel Eden on Wednesday 18 January.  

Mayor Rachel led an assembly about her day-to-day role in our town and some of the things she is passionate about achieving whilst she is Mayor of Reading, after which the students asked some fantastic questions! 

She then met with our elected School Council, followed by a Q&A session with Upper II who have just finished a Unit of Inquiry about Government. Mayor Rachel explained the structure and workings of government brilliantly, fuelled by knowledgeable and insightful questions from Upper II students. Miss Kaura was delighted to tour the Mayor around the Junior School, and talk about current and potential partnerships across Reading and beyond!
