Macbeth Review

on

On Friday 26 January, Upper IV watched a production of Macbeth by Quantum Theatre, in preparation for our upcoming topic on it in English.

The scene was set with the famous intro from the three witches, before the rest of the play where Macbeth travels down a path of violence and betrayal, leading to his inevitable end, portraying a classic Shakespearean tragedy. The production included all the original Shakespearean text, and was very well performed, with intense arguments and dramatic monologues by Macbeth, including the famous ‘is this a dagger which I see before me’.

I thought the overall production was amazing, and that the characters and story-telling was really well portrayed by the actors. I think this production has given us a good understanding of the play and Macbeth in general.
