Lower V Sports Leaders

on

Our Lower V Sports Leaders have been spending their lunch times at Abbey Gardens this week, where they have been putting their leadership skills into practice. The leaders have done a phenomenal job; the students have had a brilliant time and haven’t wanted the Lower V students to leave. The Lower V leaders have also had a lot of fun in the process!

‘I really enjoyed the opportunity that we got to teach some warm up games to some of the Junior School as it was a chance to improve my teaching skills and have fun at the same time. The girls were all really engaged and showed that they were having fun by smiling and laughing, which made us feel more comfortable and enjoy the experience too! Although sometimes, they liked to give their opinions, it still helped to better our teaching skills and overall I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again!’

‘On Tuesday, our sports leaders class went up to the Junior School over lunch, where we were able to put our skills that we have learnt into practice. We tried out some warm up games that we had planned in class, however I was surprised by how much energy they all had so we all had to adjust the games to make them more difficult often!’

‘Today our Sports Leaders class went up to the Junior School and we had a great time playing warm up games with the students in Abbey Gardens on their astro. We split off into pairs and became leaders as we guided them through several warm up games. We played stuck in the mud, duck duck goose, british bulldog and some other fun games and we really enjoyed seeing them have fun with each other as well as being brave and confident enough to contribute with their own ideas for what we should do next!’    Mariella
