Lower Prep Parent Pop In – Inquiry Based Learning

on

Just before the half term break, the Lower Prep students welcomed their parents into the classroom. They joined the girls for an Inquiry learning experience in which they were challenged to apply their knowledge and understanding of materials and their properties to construct a small bridge in the classroom.

To add further challenge, the bridge had to span the length of the river (A4 sheet of paper), stand at least 15 cm above the surface of the water and be able to bear the weight of people (duplo lego figures). Despite the building materials being less than expected the girls and their parents rose to the challenge, building both creative and purposeful structures.
