Lower III Steel Pan workshop

on

With frost on the ground and temperatures at freezing it was a cold winter’s morning at the Junior School on Monday, but in Kensington Hall the sounds of the Caribbean brightened the day and transported us to the warmth of Trinidad and Tobago.

Lower III learned about the steel pans and how they were made. They also heard how the music started in Trinidad and Tobago but is now played around the world.  Working as a team our students played various rhythms and chords, working towards being able to play the tune Hot, Hot, Hot – which we wished it was outside!  The sounds of the steel pans floated around the Junior School brightening the day for all.
