Library Writing Competition

on

To celebrate the 50th anniversary celebrations, we are holding a writing competition. You can write a short story and/ or poem on one of the following categories:

  1. A short story or poem with a theme of reading or books, or they feature in the plot (eg The Book Thief, Little Women, The Jane Austen Book Club)
  2. A short story or poem titled ‘The Library’ (could be any library) of any genre
  3. A short story or poem inspired by Cyril and Catherine Taylor who gave us this library

You may enter more than one category.

There will be prizes and work will be exhibited in the library and Hardcastle Hall in November. You might even get the opportunity to read your work to the Taylor’s daughter and granddaughters when they visit.

Short stories should be a minimum of 500 words. Email entries to library@theabbey.co.uk
