DofE Awards

on

On Monday 16 May The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award held their first Gold Award Celebration for over two years.

The event was held in Buckingham Palace Gardens and was a lovely occasion. A number of Abbey alumnae were invited, some who completed their Gold Awards more than two years ago. There was the opportunity to explore the gardens, tea and cupcakes for all, and the chance to listen to inspiring guest speakers including Ben Fogle, Tim Campbell and Johannes Radebe.

The Earl of Wessex also gave an address, congratulating all those who had achieved the Gold DofE Award. These events are fantastic – a chance to celebrate a really significant achievement. The Gold DofE Award is not straight-forward; it requires determination and perseverance to complete. Well done to all our Abbey students who were invited to the party. We hope you enjoyed your day. Hopefully this also will encourage more of our students part way through their Gold Awards – this will be you in the not too distant future!
