Having qualified in earlier rounds, Erin and Eleanor attended the national finals for the ISTD Disco, Freestyle and Rock and Roll (DFR) dance organisation on Sunday 8 October. Both danced in four events – two individual solo events and two with their dance partners.
With her partner Poppy, Eleanor achieved an amazing 3rd place (out of 21 couples) in the U12 Pre-Bronze Rock and Roll. She was also 3rd in both her U12 Bronze solo event and in her U12 Bronze Pairs with Poppy.
Erin made the final in all her four events coming 5th (out of 37) in her individual Over 16 Gold set dance and 6th in her Over 16 Gold star solo.
With her partner Tamsin they won the national title in Rock and Roll for the 6th time (since 2016), this time in the Over 16 Gold Star category. They also took the pairs title with an amazing 1st place in the Over 16 Gold Star.
DFR Grand Finals is a 12 hour day of dance at Guildford Spectrum with around over a thousand competitors and spectators attending throughout the day – the culmination of long hours of practise and qualifying events.
