A huge congratulations to Serena in Lower IV who became the Berkshire Schools Combined Events Champion last week.

She competed in five events over the day: 75m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Putt, Long Jump and 800m. Serena was placed in the top three for each event, with 9.12m in the Shot Putt being the highlight of her performance on this occasion.

At lunchtime she was in the bronze medal place competing against two Year 9 girls, and going into the last event she was still placed 3rd. However a gutsy run of 2.28min in the 800m, and a big enough margin between herself and the two athletes placed 1st and 2nd, ensured that she gained enough points to snatch 1st position.  Well done Serena!
