Articulation Gateway Article

Back in November students from Lower VI A Level Fine Art, 3D and Textiles and IB Visual Arts, started on their journey to create their entries for Articulation. This is a public speaking competition where students are invited to each deliver a 10 minute presentation to an audience about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice.

After months of work the students took part in the school internal heat presenting their presentations to a judging panel made up of Dr Bellamy, Mrs Dadds, Mrs Quant and Mr Suret. All nine students worked extremely hard to present work on a wide variety of art forms but there could only be one winner and Olivia was selected for her presentation on Bitches Brew by Jutta Koether.

On 1 February Olivia made the long trip to the MK Gallery in Milton Keynes to take part in the regional heats. On the day she delivered an amazing presentation and was a great ambassador for the school.

The Art department would like to take the opportunity to say how proud we are to all the students who took part and in particular to Olivia for representing The Abbey at the regional heats.
