Youth climate summit

on

On Wednesday, to participate in Show Your Stripes Day, eleven eco reps went to the ‘Youth Climate Summit’ to discuss ways to make our school more eco friendly. We started off the event by going to the stands at the Select Car Leasing stadium and waved the climate stripes flag with various other schools around Berkshire to raise awareness of climate change. We also joined in with some quizzes to test our knowledge about climate change and some of the statistics were surprising.

The main point of the event was to plan ways to improve the Abbey environmentally. We decided to do this in two different ways: increasing biodiversity and reducing waste of resources. We are planning some gardening events, and we are also going to start folder and pen recycling schemes.
