Bringing together our student sports leaders and expert PE staff with elite athletes and community sports clubs, we have created a town-wide multi-event platform for action and discussion to support girls to find a positive and lifelong relationship with sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Festival of Sport @ The Abbey\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/763711306?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To date over 1,000 young people have taken part, experiencing a new sport \u2013 such as rugby sevens, lawn bowls, weightlifting and boxing &#8211; or deepening a relationship with a current sport. Showcasing the challenges of role-models launched a student-led conversation about the experiences of girls in sport today and a vote for celebrity \u2018heroes\u2019.
