At the heart of our school lies not only a dedication to academic excellence but a deep commitment to the well-being of our students and their families. TAPS plays a vital role in nurturing this commitment. We warmly welcome all new parents into our community—a space where connection, encouragement, and shared purpose flourish.
A Warm Embrace for New Families
Starting a new school journey is a significant milestone for both students and parents. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning with younger siblings, TAPS is here to ensure you feel at home from the very beginning. We host informal welcome gatherings to help you meet other parents, learn more about school life, and build lasting friendships within the Abbey community.
Supporting Our Daughters, Together
We understand that school life comes with its natural highs and lows. From exam stress to friendship challenges, the journey of growing up is rarely a straight line. TAPS is a space where we can share experiences, listen without judgment, and offer practical and emotional support to one another. Together, we aim to be a strong, understanding presence behind every girl—helping them rise through every challenge and celebrating each triumph, big or small.
Celebrating Achievements, Big and Small
Whether it’s a stellar performance in a school play, a personal best in sports, or a quiet act of kindness in the classroom, we believe every achievement deserves recognition. Our society regularly highlights these moments through newsletters, special events, and informal coffee mornings because our daughters thrive when their efforts are seen and appreciated, both at school and at home.
Encouragement for Parents, Too
As parents, we are often our daughters’ first teachers, biggest cheerleaders, and strongest advocates. TAPS is just as much about supporting you. Parenting is a journey that benefits from shared wisdom, laughter, and the reassurance that you are not alone. We encourage open dialogue, self-care, and mutual encouragement, knowing that confident, connected parents raise confident, capable daughters.
Weekly Coffee Mornings: Connection Over Croissants
One of our cherished traditions is the weekly coffee morning, held every Friday in the dinning room at the Abbey Junior School. Fresh croissants, good coffee, and friendly faces make these gatherings the perfect way to round off the week. These informal meetups offer a space to relax, share stories, and build friendships in a warm, welcoming environment.
Meeting the Staff, Building Bridges
Strong partnerships between parents and staff are key to our students’ success. Our coffee mornings and events often include opportunities to meet with school staff (teachers and leadership) giving parents the chance to connect, ask questions, and gain insights into school life. These moments of connection build trust and strengthen the bridge between home and school.
Welcome once again, and we look forward to seeing you at our next coffee morning!
