Visit to Christ Church

on

Last week, the Reception and Nursery students went on a short walk around the corner from Knell House, to visit Christ Church. Before we left school, we talked about the different places that people go to worship.

On arrival, we met Father Peter, who told us that his job was being the vicar of the church. After that, the students looked around the building, noticing some of its important features, including the steeple, font, pulpit, altar, church organ and the beautiful stained glass windows.

We were amazed at the vaulted ceiling and thought that it looked very tall! The church organ led us to wonder how the music got into the pipes, which were situated at the other side of the choir stalls.  Later on in the day, we reflected on everything that we had seen and learned in our class floorbooks.
