The Upper IV students recently organised a lively Fair Trade Fair, shining a spotlight on the benefits of supporting fairly traded products. The event showcased a variety of products and highlighted the positive impact of fair trade on creating a more equitable global trading system.

The fair featured an impressive selection of homemade and shop-bought fair trade products including fruit, tea, coffee, chocolate, cakes, snacks, rice and spices. Visitors were treated to an array of interactive stalls such as blind taste tests, quizzes, and “make your own” stations.

The students also displayed an array of posters and leaflets detailing the advantages of fair trade. These informative materials explained how fair trade ensures better wages for producers, promotes sustainable farming practices and supports communities in developing countries. Through their efforts, the students raised awareness about how choosing fairly traded products can contribute to a fairer, more just economic system.
Upper IV’s Fair Trade Fair was not only an informative experience but also a celebration of the positive change that fair trade can bring to the world. Well done, Upper IV!
